Major risers in the updated On300 for the class of 2023
There are a number of prospects that made big jumps in the updated On300 for the class of 2023 that was released Monday. As is usually the case, the first full prospect rankings update following the season produced more than 20 prospects who ascended 50 or more spots in the rankings.
Significant risers in the On300
Bai Jobe, EDGE, Norman (Okla.) Community Christian
Jobe is one of the most improved players in the cycle on junior video, making the move from 191 to No. 25. Jobe has greatly improved his initial movement skills, pad level, bend and ability to turn the corner without wasted motion. And Jobe’s offer list has exploded as well with 30 offers, including 10 Power Five programs in February. The list includes Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas and Ole Miss. Jobe’s is a must get recruit for the Sooners in the 2023 cycle.
Darron Reed, DL, Columbus (Ga.) Carver
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Peach State defensive lineman moves up 76 spots to No. 30 overall. Reed ’s junior tape is a blend of initial quickness, flexibility and power. He was routinely in the backfield throughout the season, becoming one of the most disruptive forces in the state in 2021. He also possesses ideal arm length and strong hands with the ability to develop a devastating long arm. Reed’s recruitment continues to pick up steam as well. He has received offers from Clemson, Ohio State and LSU since the first of the new year.
Jacobe Johnson, ATH, Mustang (Okla.) Mustang
Another big mover in the state of Oklahoma is Johnson. The 6-foot-3 two-spot star with mid-major interest in basketball jumps from No. 101 to 38. The junior video was that of a fluid athlete at his size with exceptional hip flexibility, acceleration and ability to make defenders miss in numbers. A must-get recruit for new Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables, the Sooners are fighting to hold off Alabama, Miami and others.
Aidan Mizell, WR, Orlando (Fla.) Boone
Mizell burst onto the scene as a junior, and he makes the jump of more than 240 spots to No. 52. After posting just 173 receiving yards as a sophomore, the 6-foot-2 speedster hauled in 1,003 yards in passes and 18 touchdowns. One of the nations top 400-meter sprinters averaged an eye-opening 21 yards per catch. Mizell, whose mother ran track at Florida, has gone from zero offers to 30 since October 25, 2021.
A’Mauri Washington, DL, Chandler (Ariz.) Chandler
The latest talented prospect out of Chandler High makes the move from No. 165 to 53. Washington impressed on junior video with a board frame, long arms and powerful initial movement skills. He has the ability to win with power to collapse the pocket and quickness to be an initial disruptor. Washington displays low pad level for a prospect of his age and experience with an understanding of a long arm. Ohio State, USC and Oklahoma are among the offers since the first of November.
Derion Gullette, EDGE, Marlin (Texas)
The small-town Lone Star State budding star makes a massive move up from No. 240 to 56. Gullette is a jack-of-all-trades for Marlin High playing wide receiver, inside linebacker, outside linebacker, and even some snaps at quarterback in 2020. Gullette was a monster on Friday nights last season. He totaled 125 tackles, two interceptions and 1,458 receiving yards with 14 touchdowns. Texas A&M and Texas are battling the likes of Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Alabama to keep the fast rising four-star home.

Williams has added 21 offers since the first of November, including Clemson, Alabama and Georgia.
Roderick Kearney, IOL, Jacksonville (Fla.) Orange Park
Kearney makes the major ascending move from No. 193 to 60 in the updated ranking. He has gone from 6’3 and 255 pounds, to 6’4, 299 pounds in 10 months. Naturally, his wingspan has grown two inches in that time as well. Most impressive, however, is Kearney improving his overall athleticism while gaining 44 pounds. His testing times have all improved in the last 10 months. The film doesn’t lie either with Kearney having picked up 18 Power 5 offers since the beginning of the 2021 season. That list includes national champion Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
Dijon Johnson, CB, Tampa (Fla.) Wharton
Johnson ascends from No. 161 to 62 after a strong junior season on the field. He backed up the season with a standout performance at the recent Under Armour Camp in Miami. After checking in at 6’1 and 187 pounds, he turned in a 4.58 laser 40 and was fluid throughout the camp. Johnson has more than 30 offers with Alabama, USC and Auburn among the most recent.
Elliot Washington, N/S, Venice (Fla.) Venice
The Alabama commitment makes the move from No. 136 to 66 after very impressive junior video, and a subsequent Under Armour Camp Miami performance. Washington posted in a 4.42 40 at 195 pounds at the camp, and he looked powerful and explosive in drills. Washington’s versatility sets him apart from many other defensive backs in the cycle. He has the ability to play anywhere in the secondary due to a blend of size, speed and ball skills. He displayed patience and sound eyes at the Miami camp.
S’Maje Burrell, LB, Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley
Burrell has the video to back up the move from No. 211 to 74 — and the football intelligence. He will not only be a downhill tackling machine, but also has the goods to call the defense. Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Ohio State and USC are the teams highest on the list. The Sooners and Longhorns will receive visits in the next month.
