Breaking down 8 teams best positioned for Final Four run in 2024 NCAA Tournament
The 2024 NCAA Tournament field has been revealed, and now every college basketball fan can take a look at their team’s path to a Final Four. The journey is never as easy as it looks on paper, but some teams got a draw which could see them make a deep run.
By default, the highest seeds are generally best positioned to make a Final Four run, but every year there is an unlikely team which gains support for their improbable path to the second weekend and beyond.
From On3’s James Fletcher III, here are eight teams which have the best chance to make a Final Four run and compete for a national championship based on the way the field unfolded on Selection Sunday:
Fletcher has the No. 1 overall seed and the top seed in the East in UConn. The No. 2 overall seed and the top seed in the South in Houston. The No. 3 overall seed and the top seed in the Midwest in Purdue. The No. 4 overall seed and the top seed in the West in North Carolina.
In addition, Fletcher believes that the No. 3 seed in the South in Kentucky, the No. 2 seed in the West in Arizona, the No. 3 seed in the Midwest in Creighton and the No. 2 seed in the East in Iowa State are all capable of going on a run.
