Marcus Freeman continues to assemble an impressive coaching staff as he moves forward as the new head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

According to a report from BuckeyeScoop.com, former Ohio State linebacker and NFL star James Laurinaitis is set to join the Notre Dame football staff.

The 2007 Butkus Award winner played for St. Louis Rams and the New Orleans Saints before retiring in 2017.

Freeman and Laurinaitis were teammates at Ohio State and continued their professional paths together, as they were both selected in the 2009 NFL Draft.

Almost immediately there was one name that was mentioned, and in no time at all the new head coach of arguably the most storied college football in the country was named.

Marcus Freeman has become the savior and is clearly making strides quickly.
