Maria Taylor moving to college football coverage for NBC in 2023
Maria Taylor has covered several sports on the biggest stages during her young broadcasting career. However, most know her for her work in the college football world and now it appears she’s making a return to the sport.
Per Andrew Marchand at the New York Post, Taylor will be taking over NBC’s college football coverage come next season. She will host their studio show with their Big Ten deal taking effect next season while also remaining as the lead on ‘Football Night In America’ for NFL coverage.
Taylor was previously at ESPN and worked in several spots as part of their college football broadcasts, specifically as a reporter and on the sideline. She also worked on NBA coverage, but her involvement in that aspect also led to her eventually leaving the company following an incident involving former ESPN host Rachel Nichols.
Taylor has shown time and again why she’s one of the best up-and-coming broadcasters in the business, With that in mind and her early success at NBC, it’s no surprise they went with her to lead the way on their new college football coverage come next season.

LOOK: Texas Tech pays tribute to former head coach Mike Leach
Mike Leach suffered a major medical incident on Sunday, according to a press release from Mississippi State. This has led to an outpouring of support from around the college football world for Leach, sometimes referred to as ‘The Pirate.’ That includes from one of his former schools, Texas Tech.
On the Texas Tech Football account, the Red Raiders posted a photo of the video board at Jones AT&T Stadium. On it is a photo of Mike Leach in front of a pirate flag and the phrase, “Swing your sword,” which is a kind of mantra of Leach’s. The caption also read, “#SwingYourSword.”
