Markus Kerr jumped up to No. 92 in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard at Charlotte (NC) Chambers High played with the Team United program this summer on Nike’s E16 Circuit.

“I can do a little bit of everything,” Kerr told On3. “I can defend, playmake, and shot creation. I’m playing with a lot more dog and more energy now.”

On3 was able to catch up with four-star Markus Kerr after a recent live viewing to discuss the latest in his recruitment.

“My last couple of offers were from Georgetown, Virginia Tech, and Georgia,” Kerr said. “I just came back from Georgia, that’s the only visit I’ve been on from these schools. I’ve been to Wake Forest too.”

Kerr talks Georgia, Wake Forest

GEORGIA: “They’ve liked my game for a while. They told me they like how I’m playing with that dog in me and my leadership. The face recognition to get locker rooms stood out because it gives you 24-hour access to the gym.”

WAKE FOREST: “They really like my game, they have been on me for a while now. When I went to their practice, the players stood out to me. How hard they worked and how physical they played.”

Markus Kerr talks recruiting

GEORGETOWN: “I really built a connection with Coach (Jeff) Battle, he’s the one recruiting me. I’m going to visit them soon.”

VIRGINIA TECH: “They’re good at sports, they’re good at football and basketball. I’ve talked to them in person when they came to see me.”

“I’ve also heard from schools like NC State, Florida State, and some others, too,” Kerr said.

In his words

“I’m probably not going to do any official visits until next year,” Kerr said.

“Right now, I’m looking to build connections. I want to talk with these coaches and get to know them. Not just one phone call, ya know. That is going to be my main focus right now.”
