After not appearing this weekend in Stillwater, Sam Pittman has explained the absence of Marquise Robinson.

As Pittman explained during his press conference on Monday, Robinson, the transfer corner for Arkansas, got a stinger during pregame warmups ahead of kickoff against Oklahoma State. That led to a numbness that didn’t go away which caused him to miss the game against the ‘Pokes.

“Yeah, he got a stinger in pregame and went numb,” said Pittman. “You know, a lot of times, that’ll come back pretty fast. It did not.”

“It just was unfortunate,” Pittman said. “Just hit the wrong way and went numb on one side or the other.”

As for how they’ll manage it, the Razorbacks were going to be cautious with him yesterday at practice.

“He’ll be out of practice today,” Pittman noted. “He’ll be in the green but we’ll stay away from him.”

Robinson recorded one deflection in the secondary during the season-opening win for the ‘Hogs.

This comes after a three-year collegiate career at Southwest Mississippi along with South Alabama. In his prior two seasons with the Jaguars, he posted 64 tackles, five deflections, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery in 24 games.

Per On3’s 2024 Transfer Portal Top Players, Robinson was the No. 163 CB and the No. 1,407 overall transfer.

Robinson not playing was a last-minute loss for Arkansas but one that he will eventually return from per Pittman.

“He’s going to be back but that’s what happened,” said Pittman.

Hudson Clark injury update: Arkansas DB received MRI for back injury

Sam Pittman shared an injury update on Hudson Clark and explained that he needed to get an MRI of his back.

Clark started to deal with the back issues in the game against Oklahoma State. That forced him to play limited snaps on special teams and took him off the field entirely while the Razorbacks were on defense.

“Back. He hurt his back,” Pittman said. “He did come back and played special teams but I don’t think he felt well enough to play defensively. But he did play on kickoff and kickoff return and a few reps on field goal block.”

“He’s got a sore back and we went to get him an MRI today,” Pittman said. “As of this time, I haven’t gotten the results of that but he came in for treatment yesterday. I love the kid. He was playing really well too on defense. Had a really nice pass breakup.”

Pittman now isn’t sure if Clark is going to be able to play next week against the UAB Blazers.

“We’ll see. Thanks for asking but we’ll see,” Pittman concluded.
