Maryland transfer QB Billy Edwards Jr. commits to Wisconsin
Wisconsin has added another quarterback out of the NCAA Transfer Portal. Former Maryland QB Billy Edwards Jr. has committed to the Badgers.
Edwards is heading to Wisconsin after announcing plans to enter the transfer portal in early December.
Billy Edwards Jr. just finished his third season with the Terrapins and his fourth overall in college. He began his career at Wake Forest. After redshirting his lone season with the Demon Deacons, he has thrown for 3,317 yards, with 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in his collegiate career. He has also rushed for 377 yards and 13 scores.
This past season with the Terrapins, Edwards threw for 2,881 yards and 15 touchdowns, with 9 interceptions, in his first year as a starter.
Billy Edwards Jr., a native of Burke, Virginia, played high school football at Lake Braddock. He was the No. 1,497 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in the 2021 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 99 QB in his class and the No. 42 player out of his state.

San Diego State transfer QB Danny O’Neil signs with Wisconsin
The news of Billy Edwards Jr. heading to Wisconsin came not long after former San Diego State quarterback Danny O’Neil signed with the Badgers.
O’Neil is going to Wisconsin after spending one season at San Diego State. He was the starting quarterback for the Aztecs this past season, throwing for 2,181 yards and 12 touchdowns, with 6 interceptions.
Danny O’Neil was also the second-leading rusher for San Diego State, finishing the season with 93 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Prior to coming to San Diego State, Danny O’Neil attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a three-year starter.
