Matt LaFleur lists Christan Watson (hip) as day-to-day

The Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Christian Watson injured his hip in Sunday’s victory against the Miami Dolphins. After the game, when asked about the injury, Watson said he was “all right.” And on Monday, Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur appears to have backed his rookie’s assessment of the hip injury. When asked about Watson’s status going forward, LaFleur said he is day-to-day as of now.

Watson’s injury update is good news for the Packers, who are currently in a heated race for a playoff spot. Unfortunately, this season the Packers’ second-round pick out of North Dakota State missed time earlier in the year dealing with an injury to his hamstring. But that doesn’t appear to be the case now, which is excellent as they will need him down the stretch in the Packers’ playoff push.

Green Bay’s 26-20 come-from-behind victory against Miami on Sunday came with Watson on the sideline. After injuring his hip in the third quarter, Green Bay would rule him out for the rest of the game. Still, the Packers overcame a double-digit first-half deficit to pick up the win and keep pace in the wild race for a playoff spot in the NFC. And it doesn’t hurt that the Packers got an early Christmas gift from the three teams ahead of them.

Packers spread Christmas cheer with Dolphins win; get trolled in the process

The Packers kept their playoff hopes alive with an impressive 26-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins. But the Packers didn’t just save their own playoff aspirations with the victory. Green Bay’s victory over Miami also kept the Dolphins’ AFC East rival, the New York Jets, in the hunt to make the postseason. And the Jets thanked the Packers in a way indicative of their franchise.

New York gave an homage to 90s comedy sensation “Dumb and Dumber,” channeling their inner Lloyd Christmas on Christmas. The character, played by Jim Carrey, is known for his ‘so you’re telling me there’s a chance,’ line.

But while it is a thank you to the Packers, it is also a direct troll. To the left of the picture of Lloyd is the image of Jets rookie sensation defensive back Sauce Gardner following Green Bay’s defeat at the hands of New York, 27-10, earlier in the year. After their victory, Gardner found a Packers signature cheese-head hat and sported it on his way to the locker room; a troll most fans won’t soon forget. And this image and “thank you” from the Jets only piggybacks off of that.
