Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush explain why they picked Alabama to repeat

Under head coach Nick Saban, Alabama football being in the national championship game is seemingly an annual tradition. The Crimson Tide have won six national championships in his 15 seasons in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama is coming fresh off a national championship in 2020 and Fox Sports’ Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush explained why they think the Tide’s dominance will continue in 2021.

Matt Leinart on Alabama reloading

“They don’t rebuild, they just reload every year,” Leinart said. “Crazy stat, guys, there’s been seven times in Nick Saban’s tenure at Alabama where they’ve started a new quarterback — his first year starting. Six of those seven times they got to the national championship game. Think about that?! That’s crazy.”

Reggie Bush on Nick Saban building culture

“The one thing that Nick Saban has done a great job there; he created culture. So when you have culture, it’s about the pieces you have fitting into that culture. Right?!,” Bush said. “He has something there that kids believe in… that they want to go to….that they know, when I come to Alabama I’m gonna be developed for the next level. Because he runs a professional style football team, pro-style offense. Which is why right after [Steve] Sarkisian left, who did he go out and hire? He went and got Bill O’Brien because he wanted to keep that pro-style system going at Alabama.”

Bush went on to say 2021 will be no different than many of the dominant seasons in the Nick Saban era:

“It’s going to be no different this year. They’re gonna beat the brakes off everybody they play this year. At the end of the season, we’re going to be talking about Alabama having another magical season.”

Nick Saban’s dominance

Under head coach Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide have been devastatingly dominant. The Tide’s six national championships in 15 seasons proudly display an era of dominance that’s unlikely to ever be matched by any college football team in the history of the sport.

The Crimson Tide’s record at home under Nick Saban has been nothing short of remarkable. Since 2007, Alabama football has lost only 7 games in Tuscaloosa. Think about that. Coach Saban is entering his 15th season as the head coach of Alabama football.

Coach Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide kickoff their 2021 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 against D’Eriq King and the Miami Hurricanes. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on ABC.
