Meleek Thomas, one of the top shooting guards in the country, has cut his list of schools down to three: Arkansas, Pitt, and UConn. He will be announcing his commitment on Monday, November 11th.

The Five-Star Plus+ senior playing at Overtime Elite (GA) previously considered Alabama, Auburn, Kansas, and Kansas State.

Thomas, a 6-foot-3 Pittsburgh native, has taken official visits to each of his finalists.

Thomas is the nation’s No. 8 overall prospect, No. 2 shooting guard and No. 2 recruit in Georgia in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Thomas talks programs

In a previous interview with On3, Meleek Thomas broke down Arkansas, Pitt, and UConn.

ARKANSAS: “Coach Cal (John Calipari) and Coach Chin (Coleman) just want to let me know that they’re there every step of the way. I hear from them very often, and I feel the love and it is genuine from them. I want to see how their recruitment looks and who all is going to be there when I’m there. That is what I’m waiting to see unfold. Their communication with me is excellent.

PITTSBURGH: “They’re on my heavy, still. They’re pushing the hometown kid and letting me know that I can do everything I want from home. They’re contacting me every day, letting me know they are still here. They want me to keep them in the loop. Seeing Bub (Carrington) go one-and-done plays a big role. Seeing him do this in the most recent year lets me know that they can do it. When Pitt gets a player, they develop them and let get them where they want to go. So seeing that is big.”

UConn: “It was an amazing visit. They’re back-to-back champions, so it is hard not to like. They have a winning culture, a hard and gritty culture. They get after it on defense and let that turn into offense. The things they preach and what Coach (Dan) Hurley sees for me in his program is great to me. I’m glad I took that visit.ARKANSAS: “Coach Cal (John Calipari) and Coach Chin (Coleman) just want to let me know that they’re there every step of the way. Scouting Report

“Meleek Thomas is a bucket-getter who is wired to score. He is electric when it comes to shooting the ball with range that extends well beyond the three-point arc and the confidence that extends to any level. He has good length with some quick-twitch pop to his game. Thomas is able to carve out space off the bounce. His dribble can get him open, and he has the ability to contort his body to get his shoulders squared upon release. He will need to continue adding weight to his frame. Scoring comes so easily to him, he can get shot happy. Thomas is a good on-ball defender and has natural instincts in the passing lanes. he is tracking as one of the top guards, nationally, in his class.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
