Miami 4-star WR signee Joshua Moore primed to make immediate impact as true freshman

One of the biggest recruiting wins of the 2025 cycle for Miami came in October, as it flipped Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward four-star wide receiver Joshua Moore from in-state rival Florida.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder finished as the No. 63 overall prospect and No. 8 WR. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Moore was the No. 100 recruit in the nation.
After dominating on the high school scene, Moore is poised to make an immediate impact in Coral Gables. According to On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire, the blue-chipper will likely have the opportunity to do just that this coming season.
When speaking with Josh Newberg on ‘The Inside Scoop’, Bellaire tabbed Moore as the top offensive signee for the Canes that’s primed to make a splash in 2025.
“On the offensive side of the ball, this was a no-brainer, in my opinion. Because of not only how talented this guy is, but the situation he’s walking into is extremely favorable with Miami losing three wideouts to the NFL this year. So I think On3 top-100 wide receiver Joshua Moore is going to walk in and start at Miami next season,” Bellaire said.
“Not just make an impact, not just come in as a rotational piece, but I think he really has the chance to come in and start as a true freshman next season.”
With Miami losing the likes of Xavier Restrepo and Isaiah Horton, there’s room for entry at the position for The U. Moore is more than capable of filling right in as a top option for head coach Mario Cristobal, receivers coach Kevin Beard and Co., according to Bellaire.

“Moore has the ability to come in and replace that true outside X receiver role, immediately walking in at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds with elite ball skills and the ability to attack the football in the air,” he said. “He’s a plug-and-play option as a pass-catcher that has the physical and athletic traits to be a significant contributor to the Hurricanes offense next season.”
Moore wants to ‘be a part of something special’ at Miami
Despite his commitment to Florida, Moore had never dropped consistent contact with Beard. The Hurricanes continued to pitch the pass-catcher and eventually he opted to flip away from the Gators.
Moore broke down his decision to flip to Miami with CaneSport’s Stephen Wagner:
“Really, it was the developmental part of things,” Moore said. “I really like what coach Cristobal, coach KB and the rest of the coaching staff has been doing this season. I see that they’re building something special. I see the wide receiver room and I see the wide receivers are producing, so I wanted to be a part of something special.”
“I had a conversation with my mom, my dad and my agent, and I told them I feel like this is what’s best for me,” Moore said. “They said they felt the same way, so we were all on the same page and just made it happen.”
Moore is one of three receiver signees in Miami’s 2025 class, which ranked No. 13 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Only four-star EDGE Hayden Lowe ranks above Moore in the stacked class.
