Jonesboro (Ga.) High On300 cornerback Jontavius Wyman has flipped his commitment to Miami, On3 has learned.

The four-star Wyman had been a verbal to the Bulldogs since July. Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes beat out Florida, Florida State, Nebraska, and Arizona State among others.

Tabbed by the On3 Industry as the nation’s No. 19 cornerback and No. 201 prospect overall, Wyman becomes commit No. 9 for the Hurricanes in the 2026 recruiting class.

“I just felt like everything going on that’s the school I see myself playing at,” Wyman said.

“The culture, I love the coaches, facilities and how that program carries itself in general. The standard.”

Wyman will be back in Coral Gables next weekend after visiting two weekends ago. Defensive backs coach Zac Etheridge was the lead recruiter.

“I feel like it’s going to be great being part of the program and being coached by him and some of the other great coaches. Coach Zac Etheridge he’s been recruiting me for a minute. It’s going to be great playing under him.

Possessing the prototypical size, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Wyman has the traits Miami covets in a corner from the length, quickness and ball skills. A two-way standout he turned 34 receptions into 506 yards and seven touchdowns with 32 tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups working in the secondary. Wyman returned two punts for scores.

The recent trip to Coral Gables for a spring practice helped sell Wyman on the Hurricanes. Miami’s new defensive staff, especially the addition of two new DB coaches in Zac Etheridge and Will Harris, also helped Miami flip the long-time Georgia pledge.
