Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jacurri Brown has committed to transfer to the UCF Knights, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Jacurri Brown spent two seasons with the Hurricanes. During that time, Miami went 12-13 under head coach Mario Cristobal. For his part, Brown played in eight games as a true freshman in 2022 before he played in only the bowl game in 2023.

For his career, Brown has completed 61.8 percent of passes for 411 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 278 yards and two touchdowns during his college career.

“The Charge is on,” Brown said. “Tell them it’s up.”

Jacurri Brown played high school football at Lowndes (Georgia), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 308 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

2023 was UCF’s first season in the Big 12, with the Knights going 6-6 during the regular season. They were the only of the four new teams in the conference to make a bowl game, which UCF lost. The 2024 season will be the program’s fourth under head coach Gus Malzahn. He has a record of 24-16 there.

Along with Jacurri Brown, UCF also brought in KJ Jefferson at quarterback out of the Transfer Portal. The former Arkansas starter is now expected to start in 2024 for UCF.

The Miami Hurricanes, meanwhile, added Cam Ward at quarterback through the Transfer Portal. It will be Mario Cristobal’s third season with the Hurricanes and he will look to build on last year’s 7-6 record.

Jacurri Brown is transferring to UCF with three years of eligibility remaining.

UCF and the Transfer Portal

This offseason, UCF has been one of the more active programs in the Transfer Portal as the Knights and Gus Malzahn look to build a roster to compete in the Big 12.

To this point in the cycle, UCF has the 11th-ranked transfer class in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. That class includes 22 players who have transferred out of the program and 18 who have transferred into it. Jacurri Brown is included in that number.

Among those players transferring into the UCF program, 13 are coming in from power conference programs. That includes three players coming from schools in the state of Florida.
