On Saturday, Miami will host Tampa Bay Tech 2026 four-star interior offensive lineman Canon Pickett for a visit during the Hurricanes’ home opener against Florida A&M.

Pickett is the younger brother of Miami true freshman EDGE Booker Pickett Jr. and the cousin of Five-Star Plus+ LSU cornerback commit DJ Pickett, who will visit Miami later this fall.

Will the family connections win out for Miami in the pursuit of Canon Pickett?

Well, head of his visit to South Florida, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong has placed an expert prediction favoring the Hurricanes. Miami now leads for Pickett in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at a 95.1% chance of landing his commitment.

Pickett is the nation’s No. 325 overall prospect, No. 29 interior offensive lineman and No. 57 recruit from Florida in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 is especially high on Pickett compared to the other major recruiting services. He ranks No. 293 overall and No. 21 among IOL in the 2026 On300.

“It’s definitely been steadily growing,” Pickett previously told On3 of his relationship with Miami. “I’ve always loved Miami, and the way they’ve been staying in contact and showing love towards me has been great.”
