Miami trolls Florida in uniform announcement, reveals all-white combination

Ahead of the season opener against Miami, Florida called for fans to “stay cool” and wear white for the rivalry matchup. Fans were quick to question that decision on social media, though, since the Gators will be wearing blue.
The Hurricanes will be wearing all white, though. They unveiled their uniforms on Instagram on Wednesday and trolled UF in the announcement.
“Someone told us to wear white on Saturday,” the post read, along with a shrug emoji, ahead of the game at The Swamp.
Saturday’s matchup will be the first between Florida and Miami under their current coaching staffs. Billy Napier and Mario Cristobal are both in their third seasons as head coach, and the game will have big implications for both.

For Napier, he’s looking to bounce back from an up-and-down first two seasons in Gainesvile. Cristobal and the Hurricanes, meanwhile, are looking to make some noise in the ACC after being picked third in the conference’s preseason poll.
Napier knows how much the game will mean for both fan bases, especially considering Miami’s high hopes this year. That’s why he has no shortage of respect for the Hurricanes.

“Look, our opponent this week is highly regarded,” Napier said. “They’re ranked in both polls. They’ve got several All-American, all-conference players. They’re picked to make the Playoff. They’re picked to win their conference, right? So, I don’t think we’re lacking in regards to respect for the opponent.”
One of the biggest keys for Florida will be containing Cam Ward, the 2024 ACC Player of the Year. After choosing to return to college football instead of heading to the NFL Draft, he became the No. 8 overall player in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.
Napier specifically pointed out Ward’s ability to make plays outside the pocket. That’s going to be one of the most important parts of the game plan.
“I think you’re always evaluating the personnel and the matchup,” Napier said during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference. “I think he has been productive at multiple stops, this is his third stop. He’s played for a lot of different coaches and coordinators. I think the thing about him is that he has experience, he has arm talent, he’s accurate, and his ability to extend the plays, escape the pocket, and make off-schedule plays. I think that’s the element that’s very important.”
