Oregon is one of the schools working to flip Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh four-star tight end Andrew Olesh from Michigan and the blue-chipper is showing the Ducks some love on Thursday night.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder is in the playoffs trying to lead Southern Lehigh to a state championship. Taking on Pottsville in the District 11 4A semifinals, Olesh, a team captain, is sporting an Oregon towel:

Olesh has been committed to the Wolverines since July 8, but he’s stayed on the road visiting some of his other top contenders this fall. Coming off a visit to Penn State last weekend, Olesh is set to visit Notre Dame this weekend and is also looking to return to Oregon later this month. He already visited Eugene in October.

“The visit was phenomenal,” Olesh told On3 after watching the Ducks stomp Illinois. “What stood out to me was the statement win against a really good Illinois team, and the relationships I built with the coaching staff.

“I really enjoyed spending time with coach Lanning and coach [Drew] Mehringer too. We went through film on their tight ends and they showed me how they would utilize my talents in their offensive scheme.”

Olesh is the No. 71 overall prospect and No. 3 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania.

Oregon looking to flip blue-chip TEs down the stretch

Dan Lanning and his staff have been connected to multiple top tight ends committed elsewhere this fall. In addition to Olesh, the Ducks have the momentum for Fullerton (Calif.) Troy four-star Washington commit Vander Ploog and are also working on Goodland (Kan.) four-star Kansas State commit Linkon Cure, the top-ranked tight end in the nation.

With Olesh making the rounds, Oregon is looking to keep its foot in the door and continue to make moves in his recruitment. The Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class is still without a tight end as the Early Signing Period nears.

“Oregon is definitely in the mix,” Olesh said last month. “I plan to make it back on an official visit for the game against Washington.”

Olesh is currently one of two TEs and one of five top-100 prospects in Michigan’s class, as of Nov. 7. U-M’s class ranks No. 10 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, while Oregon checks in at No. 7.
