Michigan coach exposes Ohio State assistant for negative recruiting
Michigan picked up a stunning 13-10 upset victory over Ohio State in Columbus on Saturday afternoon, extending its winning streak in The Game to four.
Senior defensive back Aamir Hall came up with one of the most important plays in the game, intercepting OSU quarterback Will Howard at the Buckeyes’ 13-yard line early in the second quarter. The INT led to Michigan’s first touchdown of the game just two plays later.
Hall, who transferred to U-M from Albany ahead of this season, finished the game with five tackles to go along with the interception.
On Saturday evening, Michigan DBs coach Lamar Morgan took to social media to rub salt in the wounds of Buckeyes fans and call out an Ohio State assistant. On X, Morgan leaked a text message allegedly sent to Hall from Ohio State defensive assistant Gerren DuHart, who was trying to get Hall to still consider the Buckeyes despite being committed to the Wolverines.

DuHart sent Hall a graphic comparing Morgan and Ohio State DBs coach Tim Walton, saying “the coaching in that secondary is different. We can help you.”
Hall responded “with all due respect I’m locked in appreciate the opportunity coach.” On Saturday, Hall played a crucial role in propelling the Wolverines to their biggest win of the 2024 season.
The FCS transfer now has 29 total tackles and two interceptions this season. Hall was an FCS All-American at Albany in 2023, collecting 57 total tackles, five interceptions and 13 passes defended along with a forced fumble. He graded out at 85.7 overall on Pro Football Focus with an 88.3 coverage grade.
