Behind the decison: Four-star DL Benny Patterson flips to Michigan
Newburgh (Ind.) Castle On300 defensive lineman Benny Patterson flipped his commitment to Michigan. He was a one-time pledge to Cincinnati.
He becomes commit No. 17 for Sherrone Moore and his staff in 2025. He took his official visit over the weekend.
“Just the atmopshere, coaching staff, meeting with Coach Lou (Esposito) and Coach Moore and that whole recruiting staff, they were awesome,” Patterson’s father said On3.
“I think the atmosphere at the game that night when they played Michigan State was second to none. From the crowd to the team.”
Patterson also strongly considered, USC, Penn State and others. They raved about the weekend experience in Ann Arbor.

“The visit has been amazing,” Patterson’s father said. “The culture has been very impressive. You can tell why players commit here.
“The Big House exceeded expectations. It was the loudest arena we’ve ever been in. The fans are passionate and love their team. The program is something special and it’s definitely high on the list.”
