Odebolt (Iowa) OABCIG four-star athlete Jaxx DeJean is a recognizable name in the 2027 cycle.
Already considered one of the top prospects in his class, DeJean’s status is backed up by his ability on the field, not because of the name on the back of his jersey. The younger brother of Super Bowl champion Cooper DeJean landed a big offer on Thursday.
Michigan has thrown its hat in the ring for the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder. Wolverines tight ends coach Steve Casula extended an offer to DeJean:
The two programs that have been prominent in DeJean’s young recruitment thus far are Iowa and Kansas State. There’s of course ties to the in-state Hawkeyes, Cooper’s alma mater. K-State has made it known that the younger DeJean is a top priority, too.

He’s visited both Iowa City and Manhattan multiple times to date. DeJean debuted as On3’s No. 24 overall prospect and No. 3 athlete in the 2027 cycle back in August.
“DeJean watched his brother Cooper shine in Iowa City and the Hawkeyes staff wants to run it back. They’re one of the programs on him the hardest along with Kansas State,” On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong previously wrote.
As a freshman at OABCIG, DeJean did a little bit of everything. He hauled in 500 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while also rushing for five scores on offense. On defense, he snatched four interceptions and also recovered a pair of fumbles. UAB was the first Division I program to offer DeJean, doing so at the end of February.
Michigan has not yet added a prospect to its 2027 recruiting class and currently has two commits — Jacksonville Mandarin four-star cornerback Brody Jennings and Southlake (Texas) Parish Episcopal three-star wide receiver Jaylen Pile — in its 2026 class. The Wolverines signed the nation’s No. 6 class in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
