Michigan lands a commitment from On300 legacy OT Blake Frazier
On300 OT Blake Frazier had plans of taking his recruitment deep into the summer as he got a closer look at each of the five teams making strong pushes to land his commitment.
Sometimes things have a strange way of working out.
In Frazier’s case, the Michigan legacy felt strong enough about the Wolverines to pledge midway through the spring.
Frazier, the On3 Industry Ranking‘s No. 25-ranked offensive tackle in the country out of Austin (Texas) Vandegrift, committed to Michigan over Texas, LSU, Clemson and Florida — and earlier than he originally anticipated. Because of family ties, he knows Ann Arbor way better than any other campus.
“I had truly planned all along to make my decision in July after taking all five of my official visits, but my plans changed and I think that this was one of those things that I didn’t have to think twice about,” Frazier told On3.
“After my last trip to Michigan and hanging out with the guys I’ll be teammates with and seeing how the team practices and just the way I was treated like family, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that Michigan is home,” he added.
Michigan’s junior day set the foundation for 2024 class
Frazier is just the latest domino to fall for the Wolverines after a star-studded junior day in Ann Arbor in March, which included not only the legacy blue-chip tackle but now-committed Jordan Marshall, Jadyn Davis, Luke Hamilton and Ben Roebuck.
That recent visit to Michigan with members of the 2024 recruuting class provided him with a more unique perspective.

“It was a different,” Frazier told On3 earlier this spring. “I’ve been there before and I’ve seen it and I love it, but this was about the players … Jordan, Brady (Prieskorn), Jadyn, Luke and Ben. It was cool for sure, and we were having a good time. It was less about recruiting and sales pitches because I’ve been there multiple times. This was getting an idea of what a day would look like as a Michigan football player, and that was a cool feel to it.”
Frazier is ‘a perfect match’ for the Wolverines
The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Frazier boasts 33.25-inch arms with an 81.25-inch wingspan. This spring, Frazier tossed personal bests in both the shot put (51′ 3.25″) and discus (153′ 10″).
Here’s what On3 Director of Rankings and Scoutings Charles Power said of the newest Michigan commitment:
“Blake Frazier is a guy we’ve seen continue to progress physically over the past year or so with a nice frame and a lot of room to continue adding weight,” he said. “He has very good movement skills and it excites us to see how good he is at the shot put. The functional strength and power through his core projects well. He could play multiple positions along the offensive line — tackle, he can slide inside, and he’s one player whose best football is definitely ahead of him.”
“As he continues to get bigger and stronger, Michigan’s strength program is well-known for positional development,” he continued. “It’s a perfect match. In a couple of years, it won’t be a surprise to see Frazier look very different physically and be a very good starter on a very good offensive line for Michigan.”
