Michigan transfer quarterback Alex Orji has committed to UNLV, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Orji spent three seasons in Ann Arbor, even seeing some time as the starting quarterback. Now, he will work with newly hired head coach Dan Mullen in Las Vegas.

“BREAKING: Michigan transfer QB Alex Orji has Committed to UNLV, he tells @on3sports,” Fawcett said via X. “The 6’3 235 QB appeared in 20 games for the Wolverines (3 starts) Will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.”

Michigan had the task of replacing JJ McCarthy this offseason after winning a national championship. Orji was certainly one of the candidates and got his opportunities throughout the year but not with much success.

He threw for 150 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions on 47 attempts. The numbers a lot better when Orji took off himself, having 57 carries for 266 yards and a touchdown.

“It’s great,” fellow Michigan QB Davis Warren said during Alabama bowl preparation. “He’s a great dude. Michigan Man through and through.”

Orji played high school football at Sachse (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 390 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Former TCU, Alabama wide receiver signs with UNLV

TCU transfer wide receiver JoJo Earle signed with UNLV under new head coach Dan Mullen, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. He started his career at Alabama before spending two seasons at TCU.

Earle entered the transfer portal earlier this month following his second year with the Horned Frogs. He only appeared in four games in 2024, totaling seven receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown. That came after he played in all 12 games as a junior when he had 16 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns after transferring from Alabama.

Earle played high school football at Aledo (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 44 overall player from the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
