Michigan State defensive tackle transfer Derrick Harmon sets up visits
Michigan State defensive tackle Derrick Harmon entered the NCAA transfer portal this week and is already lining up potential visits as he seeks a new home.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Harmon has visits planned to Colorado, Miami and USC. He will visit Miami next week, with other trips still in the works.
Harmon is a promising fourth-year player who played in 28 career games for the Spartans. He started 15 games.
In the course of those three years at Michigan State, Harmon racked up 71 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups.
Prior to enrolling at Michigan State, Derrick Harmon was a three-star prospect and the No. 987 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 78 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 30 overall player in the state of Michigan, hailing from Detroit (MI) Loyola.
Michigan State loses cornerback to transfer portal
Michigan State cornerback Malcolm Jones has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Jones departs from the Spartans’ program following two seasons of limited playing time in East Lansing, playing in three games in his first year at Michigan State to preserve his redshirt and eight games last season to earn his first letter. Recording six total tackles in his career with the Spartans.
Jones played high school football at Lee County High School in Leesburg (GA) where he was a three-star recruit. Ranked the No. 690 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 61 safety from the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
