We are winding down January of the 2024-25 college basketball season and teams are close to the midway point of conference plays. Most SEC teams have played between six and seven conference games while there are around 11 or 12 left to go.

The SEC has been a rat race to this point with many of the teams beating up on one another. One team (Auburn) remains undefeated and 10 teams sit between two and four losses. There are 11 teams within 3.5 games of first place in the league.

Here is how I see the all-league teams in the SEC playing out if the season were to end today.

Mid Season SEC Player of the Year

C Johni Broome, Auburn

Stats: 17.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.8 blocks, 0.8 steals, 53.2% FG

To this point in the season, Johni Broome has been the most impactful player on the best team in the country. His defensive presence has held the back line strong for Auburn and his ability to clean the boards has been big as well. Broome has played efficiently this season and had some of his biggest games on the biggest stages.
