Everyone around college football is getting a taste of the new technology in the sport, with Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys being no different. The Cowboys opened the season against FCS powerhouse South Dakota State, earning a comfortable win at home. A good opportunity to get used to the changes before facing power conference foes.

“They have them upstairs and down,” Gundy said about the iPads. “That will be a discussion in the morning, what we got out of it, what changes we need to make. This is all so new. The earpiece.

“It will be interesting when we review it in the morning, you try to learn and make it better… The technology is so different this year. I didn’t use it, I don’t have time to look at that and then also know what’s going on on the field. I need to know what’s going on in the game to make decisions. If I was looking at a tablet, it would be hard for me to do that as a play caller.”

A follow-up question was then asked if Gundy could be in on the conversation between quarterback Alan Bowman and offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn. Gundy replied he was not but did joke about potentially hiring Connor Stalions to get some help with the technology before referencing the Shaggy song “It Wasn’t Me.”

“If anybody is a good IT guy,” Gundy said. “We can get the guy from Michigan here and let him hook me up. Even though he didn’t do it.”

Stalions resigned from Michigan on Nov. 3 amid the sign-stealing scandal ongoing with the Michigan Wolverines. He has been one of the biggest stories in all of sports, especially with Jim Harbaugh‘s team going on to win the national championship.

On3’s Andy Staples reviewed the recent documentary released on Stalions. Not too much was answered about the investigation surrounding Michigan. But Staples argues we did learn a lot more about Stalions the person.

Maybe if Stalions wants to get back into college football, he should make a phone call to Stillwater. Gundy needs help figuring out how to use the technology to his advantage, still getting the kinks worked out in Week 1.
