Greer (SC) Riverside On300 tight end Mikkel Skinner announced his commitment to Kentucky on Wednesday night.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Skinner becomes commit No. 21 for head coach Mark Stoops and his staff, adding to a haul that previously ranked No. 23 per the On3 Industry.

Vince Marrow was the leader recruiter in pursuing Skinner who at one point was a verbal to Cincinnati.

“Love the coaching staff and they get me and fit me well,” Skinner said.

“Love Coach Marrow my position coach and he reminds me of my dad and it truly feels like home there.”

Since the end of July, Skinner took several visits to the Kentucky campus including a few games this fall.

“I’m the only tight end they’re recruiting in the 2025 class and they have big faith in me to come in and play early and make an big impact,” Skinner said.

Skinner loves the culture Stoops has in place around his program.

“Coach Stoops allowing a player that hit the transfer portal to still workout and hangout at Kentucky until he got his things together and until he figured out where he was gonna go because he’s still a kid and times get tough shows what type of coach he is,” Skinner said.

The On3 Industry tabs Skinner as the nation’s No. 24 tight end. On3 is higher on him, ranking Skinner as the No. 14 tight end in the land and No. 242 prospect overall.

Skinner has always raved about Kentucky.

“What’s major is my position coach and just how everyone’s literally family there,” Skinner said of what caught his eye. “And my chance on playing early making an impact.

“Coach Marrow really makes it feel like I moved into my household I already live in and that’s home.”
