Miller Moss wasn’t concerned with any of the talk about USC this offseason, and it showed Sunday in a 27-20 win against LSU. The first-year starter at quarterback led the Trojans on a game-winning drive before running back Woody Marks broke free for a 13-yard touchdown.

Many questioned how good USC would be coming off of an 8-5 season and losing Caleb Williams to the NFL. There were also questions about the defense, which was among the worse in the country in 2023.

However, the Trojans got off on the right track to proving their doubters wrong with Sunday’s victory against the No. 13 Tigers. Moss had a message postgame to anyone who is still skeptical.

“We don’t pay attention to any questions anyone asks,” he told ESPN’s Holly Rowe. “They can keep asking them. We’re gonna keep preparing and keep knocking down these wins.”

Moss finished the game 27-of-36 passing for 378 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Most impressive was his ability to show up in the late game situations where the offense needed to move the ball quickly.

He also led the Trojans down the field for a field goal attempt before halftime in a mere 1:08 minutes. The quarterback completed five of his six passes on the final drive has he showed a laser focus in directing the offense.

“Two minutes is something that we practice all the time,” he said. “Those are the type of situations that coach Riley always talks about wins and loses games. We thought we put a pretty good drive together at the end of the half, so we had some comfortability in that situation. We just had to go execute and I think we did a good job of doing that.”

The victory should help generate some more buzz for USC as it hopes to make a splash during its first season as a member of the Big Ten. The Trojans won’t have much time to celebrate this victory as they’re back in action on Saturday against Utah State.

“It’s hard to put into words,” Moss said. “I’m just really happy for our team. The identity that we tried to create really showed today and I couldn’t be more proud of the guys.”
