The MLB Draft is nearly here and with that comes a lot of predictions for that draft order. That includes one from MLB Pipeline.

The most interesting place to start with this year’s draft is deciding what the Pittsburgh Pirates are going to do. Their choice will set the tone for the rest of the draft and set the dominoes in motion for the rest of the draft and can impact some choices being made by other teams.

That’s why it’s interesting that MLB Pipeline flipped its pick for the Pirates to a pitcher.

Paul Skenes is now looking at being the first player selected in the MLB Draft. For teams, it’s certainly going to be hard to pass on the star pitcher from LSU. He’s a flame-throwing starting pitcher who broke the SEC season strikeout record during the College World Series.

The second player predicted to be taken is also an LSU Tiger, Dylan Crews. After that, there are two Florida Gators likely to be picked in the first round of the MLB Draft. So, the College World Series Final between the two is a great place to check out some top prospects.

There are also several high school players looking at going in the first round, the most notable of which is Max Clark. Another is Bryce Eldridge, a six-foot-seven two-way player.
