Elite WR Naeem Burroughs sets four official visits

Jacksonville Bolles four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs was at one time eyeing an early commitment, but he’s now looking to take some more visits and continue to whittle down his list of top schools.
On Saturday, the Sunshine State standout told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he’s set official visits to four schools: Clemson (May 30), Florida (June 6), USC (June 13) and Texas (June 20).
Burroughs is the No. 67 overall prospect and No. 10 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 player in Florida.
On3 ranks the 5-foot-11, 160-pounder higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 38 recruit, No. 4 receiver and No. 4 player in Florida in the On300.
When speaking with On3 at the end of December, Burroughs broke down some of the factors that are playing into his eventual college decision:
“I don’t want to go to a school knowing there’s not a big chance I’ll play — not saying playing my freshman year is something I need to do, but I feel like going somewhere where they’re stacked at the position wouldn’t really make sense,” he said.

Florida among those pushing hard for Burroughs
Florida currently has the slight edge for Burroughs, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The in-state SEC program is pushing hard to get the speedy wideout in the fold. UF receivers coach Billy Gonzales and head coach Billy Napier are leading the charge for Burroughs.
“I think a lot about (staying home). There’s a lot of Florida fans in my hometown, so they’re rooting me on to go to Florida. It would be an experience,” Burroughs said of the Gators.
“Florida was my first offer, that plays a part in me continuously going with them. Coach Gonzales has a great track record with the receivers that he’s coached. I know that he’s a great coach, you know coach Napier’s a great head coach.”
Burroughs is one of the state’s fastest wideouts, continually turning in sub 11-second 100-meter dash times on the track. On the field, he does a little bit of everything for the Jacksonville powerhouse. As a junior, he caught 33 passes for 825 yards (25.1 YPC) and 12 touchdowns. Bolles won 10 games in 2024 and ranked as the No. 30 team in the state, per the On3 Composite.
