Five-Star Plus+ SF Nate Ament considering 11 schools while announcing new NIL partnership
Five-Star Plus+ small forward Nate Ament has signed a new NIL partnership while also announcing the final 11 schools he is considering.
Ament is officially considering Arkansas, BYU, Duke, Georgetown, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas, On3 is told.
Ament is currently On3’s No. 3 ranked player in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He is also the top uncommitted player in the senior class. Along with this announcement of schools, Ament is also announcing an official partnership with Fanstake. This is the five-star’s first equity NIL deal and a major step for Fanstake as they expand further into college basketball. Ament is represented by LIFT Sports Management.
To this point, Ament has taken official visits to Texas, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Louisville.
Nate Ament talks Duke, Kentucky, Arkansas, BYU, Texas, Georgetown, and Kansas State
In previous conversations with On3, Nate Ament has discussed each of these schools.
DUKE: “I’ve been down there a couple of times, so they’re making sure that I’m hearing their voice. And I hear from them a lot. They’re recruiting all these big-time freshmen and they’re turning them into good defenders, they’re like a top-10 defensive team in the country right now. They got length there, and I’m a lengthy guy, and they’re playing freshmen a lot which is very enticing just playing with a bunch of other freshmen who can play just like me.”
KENTUCKY: “I mean, the first couple of games for them have been insane. For Coach (Make) Pope to come in as the new head coach and keep Kentucky going like it was with Coach Cal, is insane to see something something like that. Coach Pope has them playing fast, putting up a lot of points, and shooting a lot of threes.
ARKANSAS: “Coach Cal (John Calipari) has been up to see me a couple of times. He’s talked with my mom and seen my dad, he’s talked to all of us, you know, he’s just trying to get to know our family and making sure we hear his pitch. He’s doing the same thing that he was at Kentucky. He has the same firepower and the same amount of freshmen. It’s been tough for them this season because they started the year with a bunch of injuries. They’re in the SEC which has ten teams in the top-25 right now, so that’s crazy. Just seeing them battle it out and develop his players so they’re ready to come out whenever that may be. He’s doing a great job in that way.”
KANSAS STATE: “Things have been great with Coach (Jerome) Tang. Not much has changed over the last couple of weeks. They’ve been coming to see me and I’ve been hearing Kansas State’s voice a lot. My visit there is so late, you know it’s in February, but they’ve done a great job staying in contact with me, you know. They’re not just waiting until my visit, they’re letting me know they want me now.”
BYU: “I’ve heard from BYU some, and they’ve been to a practice. I’ve actually talked with AJ (Dybantsa) since he committed. You know, having me and AJ on the same team, two high-level wings, would be enticing for us to both grow as freshmen, pursuing our dreams of the NBA. So that would put them a little more into play for me since AJ committed.”
GEORGETOWN: “Coach (Ed) Cooley is telling me how he is trying to get Georgetown back to its glory. This team looks really good this year, so his message to me has been, “Let’s continue to build Georgetown up throughout these next couple of years.” Georgetown is like 30 minutes from my house, so it has been good to have a local college like that recruiting me.”
Nate Ament talks official visits to Louisville, Tennessee, Texas, and Notre Dame
NOTRE DAME: “So, you know, I knew Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry before my visit. So I was able to go up there, and get to know Coach (Kyle) Getter and B. Snow (Brian Snow). They’re all still in constant communication with me, making sure I hear their voice. Coach Shrews runs an NBA-level offense, they spread the floor, move the ball, and play in a lot of free-flow and react stuff. Coach does a great job of getting his guys to play together.”

TENNESSEE: “I mean, they’re the No. 1 team in the country. They play fast and Coach (Rick) Barnes is a great offensive coach. He does a great job with his guys, getting them in the best positions. He did it with (Dalton) Knecht, and with Chaz Lanier. He’s got him as a front-runner for Player of the Year. Coach Barnes gets him to his spots and makes sure he knows where he wants him to be on the court. And Chaz has been doing a tremendous job.”
TEXAS: “I got to know them a lot when I was on my visit. They’ve been keeping in touch with me, coming to see me, communicating with me as much as possible since the visit.”
LOUISVILLE: “Pat Kelsey says that he is bringing the revival of Louisville basketball. They are bringing it back to how Louisville was in the beginning, like a top-5 program. I think Coach Kelsey has a great mindset and a coaching mentality. I think that he can do it.”
**Nate Ament has not discussed Alabama in previous interviews with On3.
Fanstake is a fan-driven NIL platform
For some background, Fanstake is a fan-driven NIL platform that allows college sports fans to directly support athlete recruitment and retention. Fans can pledge financial support—called “stakes”—to athletes they want to see join or stay with their favorite teams. If the athlete commits, those funds turn into a real NIL endorsement deal. If not, fans get their money back.
“The NIL landscape is changing, and fans now have the chance to directly influence where top athletes like Nate Ament decide to play,” said Greg Glass, CEO and Co-Founder of Fanstake. “This is the future of college sports—fans actively participating in the recruitment process, helping teams stay competitive, and ensuring athletes understand their true market value. With Nate still uncommitted, now’s the perfect time for fans to stake their claims and help shape his decision.”
”I’m proud to partner with Fanstake,” said Ament. “This platform gives fans a unique way to be part of the recruiting process, which is pretty cool. I’m still weighing my options for where I’ll play, and there’s a lot to consider, but it’s exciting to see how fans can get involved in helping me find the right fit.”
Ament’s agent, Derek Malloy of LIFT Sports Management, added: “Partnering with Fanstake to represent a generational talent like Nate Ament is a true testament to the power of equity in sports—providing young athletes the opportunity to realize their full potential and change the game for future generations.”
