No. 3 ranked Nate Ament visiting Louisville this weekend
Nate Ament, the No. 3 ranked player in the 2025 On3 150, is on his official visit to Louisville this weekend a source confirms to On3.
The Five-Star Plus+ senior’s trip to Louisville is his second official visit following Texas a couple of weeks ago. Ament currently has future trips planned to Tennessee and Kansas State. Programs like Duke, Kansas, Arkansas, Notre Dame, and others are heavily involved with Ament who does not plan to commit and sign until the late signing period.
Ament is a 6-foot-9 wing who currently attends Warrenton (VA) Highland School. He played this summer on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit with the Team Loaded VA program where he averaged 18.1 points and shot 41.7 percent from three.
This summer, Ament also won a FIBA gold medal playing with the USA Basketball team in the FIBA U18 Americas Cup.
Ament arrived at Louisville on Friday morning.
Nate Ament talks Louisville and his recruitment
In previous interviews with Nate Ament, he has spoken to On3 in depth about Louisville.
“For me, it’s the coaching staff. They love my game and I love them,” Ament said. “They’re great people. They have a plan for me, which I like. They’ve given me a presentation about my percentages and where I fit in with their team in their system. They’re just great people.

FAU sources respond to Ray Lewis report from ESPN
“Coach (Pat) Kelsey is such a passionate guy. You can see it in everything that he does. He had a presentation for us. You can tell he really loves his job and he wants Louisville to be the next big spot for all the players to go to. And that is his message to me, to build Louisville up. He thinks I can really shine with his play style; transition, shooting a lot of threes, and getting to the rim and making foul shots.”
While the plan is currently to wait until the late signing period to commit, Ament has a pretty good idea of what he will be looking for in a school as he goes through his process.
“Mostly for me, I’m going to be looking at the school’s player development, the facilities, their strength and conditioning coach. It’s going to be good to be able to watch each team throughout the season. Some of them are new head coaches, so it is going to be good to see what they do this year and watch their offense.
“It’s kind of watch and find out, but I want to see if the things they are telling me are aligning. Watch how they play and see if I think I can fit into their system. It will also be good to see where other players in my class are committing and what shakes out.”
