It’s becoming evident two powerhouse programs are separating themselves from the rest of the nation. While many believed Alabama and Georgia were on upset alert, they dismantled their opponents — quelling all disbelief and doubt.
Now, Vegas Insider has them as co-favorites in their updated National Title odds — by far. Still, college football is a sport full of upsets, and plenty of teams on their list can make their presence known over the coming months.
National Title odds, per Vegas Insider:
Georgia Bulldogs (+175)
Alabama Crimson Tide (+175)
Ohio State Buckeyes (+1000)
Oklahoma Sooners (+1400)
Michigan Wolverines (+3000)
Iowa Hawkeyes (+4000)
Texas Longhorns (+4000)
Penn State Nittany Lions (+4000)
Cincinnati Bearcats (+4000)
Oregon Ducks (+5000)
Pittsburgh Panthers (+6000)
Virginia Tech Hokies (+8000)
Oklahoma State Cowboys (+8000)
NC State Wolfpack (+8000)
LSU Tigers (+8000)
Michigan State Spartans (+8000)
The Favorites
With all the talk focused around Sam Pittman’s revitalization of the Arkansas program, the Georgia Bulldogs knocked them back down. Evidently, Kirby Smart wanted to remind Pittman who’s boss — as his team destroyed the Razorbacks at every turn.
Following Georgia’s impressive performance, Alabama did the same thing to Ole Miss’ boisterous bunch. Last week, Matt Corral was crowned Heisman favorite, and Lane Kiffin was deemed the man who was going to beat Nick Saban. Fast-forward, Alabama humbled the Rebels on Saturday.
Outside the SEC, the Ohio State Buckeyes may be finding their groove. Against Rutgers, C.J. Stroud and TreVeyon Henderson led an offensive onslaught on their way to victory. Oregon’s loss to Stanford opened the door, and the Buckeyes could kick it wide open with a strong finish to the year.

Finally, Oklahoma stayed unbeaten with a victory over Kansas State. Could this be the start of the hot streak we’ve been waiting for? With a gigantic matchup with Texas coming this weekend, we’re going to find out on Saturday.
Sleeper Picks
First, the Cincinnati Bearcats went into the home of Notre Dame on Saturday, and left with a victory. Now possessing wins over the Fighting Irish and the Indiana Hoosiers, the Bearcats resume is getting stronger. Still, they’ll have to do more convincing over the rest of the season.
Next, the Oklahoma State Cowboys continued their hot start to the season, defeating the previously undefeated Baylor Bears. Now, they get a bye to rest up before a Big 12 showdown with Texas. If they can continue their impressive run, they could be an unlikely title contender.
Finally, just how good are the Michigan State Spartans? Could they make some bold bettors very wealthy? Undefeated and with +8000 odds, taking a chance on Mel Tucker’s squad could pay off handsomely. While they haven’t played the stiffest competition, they’re up to #11 in the polls after last Saturday’s victory.
