Four-star Jackson (Ala.) running back Ezavier Crowell is down to six schools in his recruitment, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday.

Among the remaining contenders are Alabama, Florida State, Texas, Georgia, Auburn and Ohio State. Crowell recently reclassified up from the Class of 2027, but remains as one of the nation’s top running backs regardless of year.

Crowell already has five of his official visits locked in. He visits Georgia on May 30, then will follow that with a trip to Texas on June 6, Auburn on June 13, Florida State on June 15 and Alabama on June 20.

The Buckeyes, meanwhile, will be looking to make a move to get their own visit from him.

“I am not planning to commit before my senior season, so I am taking it slow,” Crowell told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. “I will take my official visits this summer, probably go to some games in the season, then make a decision late in the season or after the season.”

Texas looking to make up ground with new RBs coach

The Longhorns were a school high on his list before Tashard Choice left for the NFL, but he is ready to give them another chance.

“I was going to visit, then not, but Coach Scott came in, called me right away and I like his personality, so I am going to give him a chance,” he said. “He watched my film, he loves my game and Texas is a great school in a great city, so I still have them on my list.”

The in-state Crimson Tide are a major threat to keep him home and are making him feel like a top priority.

“I like Alabama a lot. I will probably be back over there soon. Coach G (Robert Gillespie) is a great coach, we talk a lot and I like coach DeBoer a lot too. Coach G and Alabama is pushing very hard for me right now.”

He said the same about Auburn. Hugh Freeze and Derek Nix are involved there.

“Auburn is another school I really like. They are doing a great job there and the coaches stand out there the most.”

Florida State and Georgia trying to pry him away from local schools

Both the Bulldogs and Seminoles have done enough to secure official visits, but will have to keep chipping away to get him out of the state.

“I like everything about Georgia,” Crowell said. “Coach Crawford talks to me a lot, I am high on their board and we talk a lot about how he can develop me.”

He added about FSU: “Coach Norvell, Coach Malzahn and Coach YAC (David Johnson) recruits me from Florida State. They are working really hard to get me.”

The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder is the No. 28 overall prospect and No. 2 RB in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
