Navy football trolls Oklahoma, SEC after Armed Forces Bowl win
The Navy Midshipmen pulled off a historic victory in their bowl game this year, beating an SEC team for the first time since 1955. Navy stormed back to edge Oklahoma with a 21-20 win in the Armed Forces Bowl on Friday.
Afterward, the Midshipmen made sure that everybody knew just how big it was with a hilarious troll of Oklahoma and the SEC in general with “It just means more at Navy,” clearly mocking the SEC’s slogan “It just means more.”
Navy quarterback Blake Horvath set a program record with a 95-yard touchdown run and also scored the go-ahead 6-yard touchdown with 4:34 left in the game after the Midshipmen rallied from an early two-touchdown deficit. They also stopped a late two-point conversion attempt from Oklahoma to pull off the 21-20 win in the Armed Forces Bowl.
The Sooners scored on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Michael Hawkins, Jr. with six seconds left in the fourth quarter. Oklahoma decided to go for the two-point conversion and the win, but Hawkins was sacked by Justin Reed on the conversion attempt. The freshman signal-caller finished with over 300 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. Oklahoma was led in receiving by Ivan Carreon, who hauled in seven catches for 72 receiving yards.

The Navy ground attack dominated the game, rolling up 226 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 40 carries. Horvath finished with 155 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the day. He also completed 7 of 12 passes for 92 yards. Horvath had over 200 all-purpose yards in propelling his team to the big victory. The 10 wins are the most the Navy program has had since 2019, when they finished 11-2 overall, and a No. 20 overall ranking in the AP Poll.
Not only did Navy come away with a bowl win, but they also defeated Air Force (34-7) and Army (31-13). They brought home the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, which goes to the winner of the series between the three teams.
