Navy is targeting Bowling Green defensive coordinator Eric Lewis for a defensive backs coach job, sources tell On3.
Lewis has been at Bowling Green the last three years, including the last two as defensive coordinator. In 2021, Lewis led the way as the Falcons finished fourth in the MAC in total defense, allowing their fewest yards per game since 2013. This season, Lewis helped Bowling Green advance to its first bowl game since 2015.

Before Bowling Green, Lewis was a cornerbacks coach at Boston College (2019) and Colorado State (2018). He also worked at places such as Tennessee and Louisville and, in addition to Bowling Green, has also been a coordinator at Eastern Michigan and Weber State.
Navy recently promoted Brian Newberry to head coach after four seasons as the team’s defensive coordinator.
