Former NC State wide receiver Dacari Collins has committed to Louisville, his agents tell On3’s Pete Nakos. Collins began his career at Clemson.

Collins’ commitment to the Carindals comes after he was set to visit both UCLA and Baylor in the coming days. However, it appears as though the former NC State and Clemson wideout is set on remaining in the ACC for his final season of eligibility.

He’s coming off the best season of his career statistically as well, recording 24 receptions for 314 yards and two scores. NC State finished the 2024 season with a 6-7 record, including a 3-5 record against ACC competition.

Set to play his fifth year at the collegiate level, he split those four years so far at both Clemson and NC State. His true freshman season saw his capture 16 receptions for 221 yards. He played one game the following season before transferring to NC State in 2023. In two seasons with the Wolfpack, Collins compiled 38 receptions for 526 yards and four touchdowns.

Collins is a former top 200 recruit, ranking No. 186 in the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 29 WR in the 2021 cycle and the No. 18 player out of the state of Georgia.

He joins a Louisville program that has experienced heightened success under Jeff Brohm, who will be entering his third season as the Cardinals head coach this fall. He has led Louisville to 10-4, and 9-4 seasons, respectively to this point and the Cardinals continue to experience heights it never achieved with the previous coaching group.

Now, Collins has been added to the offensive lineup in the hopes of bolstering the passing game for his final season of eligibility. The Cardinals will kick off their 2025 regular season at home against in-state foe, Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Aug. 30. Louisville will open ACC play at Pitt on Sept. 20.
