NCAA Tournament: Sweet Sixteen tip-off times released
Now two rounds into the NCAA Tournament, it’s almost time for the final stretch of the road to the Final Four. The Sweet Sixteen gets underway Thursday, and the NCAA has announced tip-off times for the regional semifinals.
The first two rounds of the tournament saw more than its fair share of upsets, as two No. 1 seeds failed to reach the Sweet Sixteen. The returning champion Kansas Jayhawks saw their dream of repeating denied in a one-point loss to Arkansas, while Purdue fell to 16-seed Fairleigh Dickinson in the opening round. FDU later lost to Florida Atlantic, which will make its first Sweet Sixteen appearance in program history.
While two one-seeds fell, Houston and Alabama pushed ahead to keep their tournament dreams alive. Also keeping their dream alive was 15-seed Princeton who shocked Arizona to begin their tournament and handled Missouri with ease to reach the Sweet Sixteen.
