Nebraska nearing top-25 recruiting class following latest commitment
Nebraska struck for an important victory on the recruiting on Monday night, landing a pledge from Omaha Westside four-star linebacker Christian Jones, the No. 1 senior in the state.
“After the Colorado game it felt right,” Jones told On3’s Steve Wiltfong upon making his decision public. “I want to be part of the culture Coach (Matt) Rhule is building.”
“It’s close to home and I can be with my family.”
The addition of Jones is a crucial one for Rhule and the Huskers. With the 6-foot-2.5, 215-pounder in the mix, Nebraska’s class now ranks No. 26 in the nation and No. 9 in the Big Ten, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
He is the highest-ranked commit in the class, checking in as the No. 212 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 23 LB in the cycle.
Huskers land major in-state recruiting win
Nebraska now has 19 commits in its 2025 class. Six four-stars headline the pledge list and are split on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
