Charlotte Christian three-star running back Jamal Rule has committed to Nebraska.

He chose the Cornhuskers over Virginia Tech, Michigan State and Syracuse.

Rule is the No. 779 overall prospect and No. 44 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 31 player in North Carolina.

The 6-foot burner is in the boat for head coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers after taking an official visit to Lincoln earlier this month. He’s logged three trips to the Big Ten program overall and is now the eighth commit in the Nebraska class.

It’s the second commitment of the day for Nebraska, as Rule follows Orlando First Academy four-star cornerback Danny Odem, who pledged to the Huskers over Ohio State earlier on Monday. Odem is the top-ranked prospect in the class, checking in as the No. 198 recruit and No. 19 corner overall.

Across seven games as a junior for Charlotte Christian, Rule rushed for over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns, per MaxPreps. The Knights won eight games last season and finished as the No. 20 team in North Carolina, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.

Nebraska picking up steam this summer

The Huskers lost a commitment from four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh earlier this month, but they’ve now added five pledges in June and are pushing for more this summer.

Anaheim (Calif.) Servite three-star tight end Luke Sorensen committed on June 20. He ranks as the No. 35 TE this cycle and is the No. 60 player in California this cycle.

“That team culture at Nebraska is unbeatable. Nebraska is Nebraska,” Sorensen told On3’s Chad Simmons. “There is just football there and everyone there wants to work and to be great. Football is taken so seriously and I want to be part of a culture like that.”

A pair of offensive linemen have also committed to the Huskers this month. Biloxi (Miss.) three-star IOL Hayden Ainsworth is the No. 25 player in Mississippi, while Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton three-star OT Rex Waterman is the No. 21 player in Arizona.

“There was no need to wait any longer, I know where home is,” Ainsworth told On3 about his June 16 decision. “I had a hunch going into the visit that Nebraska is where I could call home, but a few days after the visit is when I made the final decision.”

The class currently ranks No. 56 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
