Coming out of their conference opener, Nebraska is dealing with several injuries on their roster. That leaves multiple statuses to be determined before kickoff this weekend in West Lafayette.

Matt Rhule said the Cornhuskers had no health updates to give as of today to open up his press conference earlier. They’ll be doing some work to end this week to see where they all are with many being game-time calls from there for Purdue on Saturday.

“We don’t have any injury updates yet,” said Rhule. “We’re going to do some things full speed tomorrow, see where some of those guys are so I probably won’t know – a lot of game-time decisions.”

Among the players on this week’s overall report include the likes of Tommi Hill and Turner Corcoran. Hill missed the last game with plantar fascia. Corcoran is now out for the foreseeable future with a “significant” injury to his hamstring.

As for Hill, Rhule did go a little more in-depth. He said it’s more about how much pain that he can tolerate than anything else. He’s getting himself through it currently in a matter that normally would take about month to heal from. As for management, he’ll go if he can handle it but they’ll have to rely on others in their secondary if he can’t.

“Yeah, it’s a pain threshold thing. It’s a really, really painful injury. I just saw the other day that there was a guy in the NFL who’s out for like four weeks with it. Most guys would be out for four weeks. Tommi’s just battling through,” said Rhule. “He’s one that, you know, you kind of get to the game. If he can go? Great. If he can’t? Then, you know, Ceyair proved that he’s a starting-level corner in the Big Ten.”

Nebraska isn’t going to know much more until they take the field for pregame that morning at Ross-Ade Stadium. That leaves several undecided spots in their lineup and on the roster for now ahead of their game against the Boilermakers.
