Nebraska OL Gunnar Gottula, Henry Lutovsky ruled available by Matt Rhule
Nebraska is getting a couple of big-time pieces on the offensive line back for Saturday’s showdown with Colorado.
Offensive linemen Gunnar Gottula and Henry Lutovsky are both expected to play against the Buffaloes this weekend, head coach Matt Rhule told reporters on Thursday. The two missed Nebraska’s Week 1 matchup with UTEP.
Mitch Sherman of The Athletic revealed the news on Twitter.
“Offensive linemen Gunnar Gottula and Henry Lutovsky are available and ready to go against Colorado on Saturday, Nebraska coach Matt Rhule says. Two of the Huskers’ top depth pieces up front were still recovering from injuries last week during the opener,” Sherman posted.

Gunnar Gottula played in four games last season as a true freshman while redshirting. He is a former three-star recruit in the class of 2023, per the On3 Industry rankings.
Henry Lutovsky is a veteran offensive lineman for Nebraska who appeared in 12 games last season, making two starts.
The news is particularly big because Cornhuskers starting offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka was announced as out for the year during the preseason.
More on Nebraska starting LT Teddy Prochazka being out for the season with knee injury
Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule announced last month that starting left tackle Teddy Prochazka will be out for the season after suffering a knee injury. Rhule spoke to the media early in August regarding the injury, while also confirming linebacker Roger Gradney suffered a season-ending leg injury, as well.

“Teddy, yesterday, Prochazka, unfortunately, tore his ACL as well,” Rhule said. “So, not the same surgical knee, tore the other knee. So, you know, obviously our heart breaks for both of them. But certainly, Teddy, now this is, you know, going on four surgeries for him. A really, really difficult time for him. So he was right there in the team meeting last night with an unbelievable attitude. He embodies everything we believe in, embodies what’s next. He’ll be a great mentor for Roger. But unfortunate.”
Prochazka dealt with injuries last season but ended up playing the final 10 games with six starts in 2023. He started the final five games of last fall at left tackle.
Following three starts in 2022, Prochazka was lost for the rest of the season due to injury, a year right after it happened after just five games in 2021 when he was a freshman.
Safe to say, Prochazka’s been very unlucky with the injury bug. Prochazka was also named Academic All-Big Ten last year in addition to being a three-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll member.
