Nebraska availability report for opener against UTEP released
Nebraska has released its availability report for Saturday’s opener against UTEP. The Cornhuskers will be without redshirt freshman offensive lineman Gunnar Gottula, per the report.
Gottula and fellow offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka, who was already announced as out for the season, are the only two players who will for sure miss the game.
Outside of those two, defensive back Blye Hill and offensive lineman Henry Lutovsky are questionable for the contest.
Kickoff for Saturday’s season opener is set for 3:30 p.m. It will be televised by FOX.

Gunnar Gottula played in four games last season as a true freshman while redshirting. He is a former three-star recruit in the class of 2023, per the On3 Industry rankings.
As for the two questionable Nebraska players, Blye Hill is a sophomore defensive back who transferred in from Saint Francis this offseason. Henry Lutovsky is a veteran offensive lineman who appeared in 12 games last season, making two starts.
More on Nebraska starting LT Teddy Prochazka being out for the season with knee injury
Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule announced earlier this month that starting left tackle Teddy Prochazka will be out for the season after suffering a knee injury. Rhule spoke to the media at the beginning of this month regarding the injury, while also confirming linebacker Roger Gradney suffered a season-ending leg injury, as well.

“Teddy, yesterday, Prochazka, unfortunately, tore his ACL as well,” Rhule said. “So, not the same surgical knee, tore the other knee. So, you know, obviously our heart breaks for both of them. But certainly, Teddy, now this is, you know, going on four surgeries for him. A really, really difficult time for him. So he was right there in the team meeting last night with an unbelievable attitude. He embodies everything we believe in, embodies what’s next. He’ll be a great mentor for Roger. But unfortunate.”
Prochazka dealt with injuries last season but ended up playing the final 10 games with six starts in 2023. He started the final five games of last fall at left tackle.
Following three starts in 2022, Prochazka was lost for the rest of the season due to injury, a year right after it happened after just five games in 2021 when he was a freshman.
Safe to say, Prochazka’s been very unlucky with the injury bug. Prochazka was also named Academic All-Big Ten last year in addition to being a three-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll member.
