Former Nebraska EDGE Princewill Umanmielen is beginning to get his transfer portal recruitment well underway, with a handful of schools beginning to emerge.

Umanmielen informed On3’s Hayes Fawcett that Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Texas Tech are the programs currently standing out at the top.

From that group, he has already identified a few visits.

Princewill Umanmielen will visit Ole Miss from Dec. 12-13, then Texas A&M from Dec. 13-14. Other visits are potentially in the works still.

Umanmielen is one of the more coveted targets in the NCAA transfer portal after emerging as a rotational piece for the Cornhuskers.

While there were no recorded starts, Nebraska is losing a nice contributor in Umanmielen. He played in all 12 regular season games and tried to get the opposing quarterbacks. Princewill Umanmielen recorded 13 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks throughout the season. The half-sack came early in the year against Colorado.

Go one year back to his true freshman season and the numbers are still impressive. The 22 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sack with four quarterback hurries was good enough to be named a second-team All-American.

Princewill Umanmielen played high school football at Manor (TX) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 227 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

This process will be nothing new for the family. Princewill’s older brother, Princely Umanmielen, entered the portal last season after playing for the Florida Gators. He was one of the top names available and eventually landed with the Ole Miss Rebels. The move certainly paid off in a big way.

Teams will be hoping Princewill Umanmielen can make a similar type of impact moving forward.
