Nevada tight end Keleki Latu enters NCAA transfer portal
Nevada tight end Keleki Latu has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Latu is the brother of former UCLA EDGE defender Laiatu Latu, who was just taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, with the No. 15 overall pick.
Keleki Latu spent the first two years of his career at California before transferring to Nevada prior to the 2023 season. Now he’ll seek a third school out of the NCAA transfer portal.
Latu played in six games last season, starting all six before suffering a season-ending injury. He finished the campaign with 14 catches for 179 yards.
In three years in college, Latu has recorded 36 catches for 434 yards and two touchdowns.
Prior to enrolling at Cal, Keleki Latu was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,000 overall recruit in the nation in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
He also checked in as the No. 58 tight end in the class and the No. 78 overall prospect from the state of California, hailing from Carmichael (CA) Jesuit.

Now in remission, Lubick is ready to provide his expertise at Nevada. Wolf Pack head coach Jeff Choate welcome Lubick in a statement published by the university.
“Matt has obviously had a long battle, and it’s really gratifying to see him come out the other end,” Choate said. “One of the things he talked about with our team was gratitude, how grateful he was for the opportunity to coach at Nevada.
“I can say the same thing—I’m extremely grateful that Matt is going to be our offensive coordinator. We’re very excited to have him in a position where he can engage with us now. Matt’s an extremely accomplished coach, and even better person, and I’m looking forward to what he’s able to bring.”
Lubick has served as a senior analyst at Kansas for the past two seasons. With Lubick’s help, the Jayhawks have seen a meteoric rise, boasting a 9-4 record in the 2023 campaign.
