New York's No. 1 prospect four-star WR Messiah Hampton reacts to his recent Miami offer: "That is the most beautiful campus I've ever been on"

Rochester (N.Y.) Monroe four-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton is the No. 1 prospect from the state of New York with over a dozen offers. While Hampton has received interest from several programs from the North, last week the Miami Hurricanes offered the 2026 prospect, who has a growing interest in the Canes.
“I was super excited when I got that Miami offer,” Hampton told CaneSport. “Kevin Beard is a great coach, and this is my first time getting an offer out of my region since all of my offers are from the Northeast region.”
This past weekend, Hampton was on campus in Coral Gables when he received his offer from Miami wide receivers coach Kevin Beard, who left a lasting impression.
“I would say the coaching staff and everyone was amazing at Miami,” Hampton said. “That is the most beautiful campus I’ve ever been on.”
While the 6-foot, 170-pounder was awed by Miami’s campus, Hampton is equally impressed by the trajectory of the program on the field.

“Miami is a great program, and they had a great record,” Hampton said. ”I feel like they should have been in the playoffs. They’re definitely a great program historically and presently.”
As a junior, Hampton hauled in 56 receptions for 869 yards and eight touchdowns. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Hampton is the No. 333 overall prospect in the 2026 class. While New York isn’t known for churning out elite prospects on the gridiron year in and year out, Hampton believes he could be the next great out of The Empire State.
“I feel like what stands out about my game is my run-after-catch ability,” Hampton said. “I hate going down, and I hate getting tackled, which I show on my film. I would also say the way I go up and catch the ball. And how versatile I am.”
CaneSport’s take
Hampton turned heads last weekend at the Battle Miami 7v7 tournament as one of the top wide receivers. While it may be hard to pull him out of the Northeast and Big10 country, the Canes made a great first impression on the New York native who says he hopes to visit Miami again.
