Wisconsin vs. Alabama Preview & Prediction

Alabama enters Week 3’s road trip to Wisconsin the healthiest they’ve been along the offensive line this season.

Offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is set to make his first appearance of the season against the Badgers, in front of a hostile environment inside Camp Randall Stadium. Former Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban expects a high level of play from ‘Bama up front on Saturday despite the raucous crowd on hand.

“I’ve been there before,” Saban said of Camp Randall Stadium. “This is a tough place to play if the fans get into it. But you know, to me, the biggest issue with Alabama so far has been they’re big-little. And I always hated when our offense played big-little. You make a lot of big plays, but then you have a lot of negative plays and inefficiency on offense whether it’s sacks, fumbles, penalties — all the things that put you behind the down and distance. You can’t sustain long drives and keep the ball and control the tempo of the game.

“I think with the offensive line getting fixed today — I think both tackles will play today, which they didn’t play last week — I think that will help a lot. Because most of the teams that struggle, they’re struggling up front and hopefully, Alabama can get that fixed today.”

Proctor was a late scratch in Alabama’s season opener against Western Kentucky after suffering from a shoulder injury during pregame warmups. Missing the first two weeks of the season with an injury status that, according to DeBoer, was be a close call for Saturday’a game against the Badgers.

Despite dealing with injuries along the offensive line this season, Alabama has produced two strong performances early in the year depite struggling early against USF in Week 2.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe has led the way, proving his dual-threat abilities by combining for nine touchdowns through two games both through the air and on the ground. Jam Miller and Justice Haynes are both on pace to clear the 200-yard rushing mark on the season against Wisconsin on Saturday — and with a fully healthy line, their abilities might be a bit more effective against the Badgers.

Kickoff between the Crimson Tide and Badgers is scheduled for Noon ET and will air live on FOX.
