Nico Iamaleava injury update: Tennessee QB's status revealed on Wednesday injury report vs. Georgia
Game of the week in the SEC will be played in Athens, with Georgia hosting Tennessee. This matchup occurring late in the season means conference title and College Football Playoff implications are on the line. Tennessee is just a one-loss team while Georgia is fresh off its second defeat of the year, losing to Ole Miss in Oxford.
There are unfortunately some injuries both teams are dealing with heading into the matchup, with the biggest name being Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava. A concussion was suffered during last week’s game against Mississippi State, forcing him to miss the second half. His initial status will tell us a lot about the ultimate decision.
Other names have been listed on the Wednesday injury report as well, showing us who is in danger of missing Saturday’s game.
As a reminder, at least three more reports will be provided before kickoff from Sanford Stadium. Thursday and Friday will both be released around 8 p.m. ET while Saturday’s occurs around 90 minutes before kick. You can check out the full injury report below.

Josh Heupel provides update on Nico Iamaleava
The Tennessee Volunteers are going into one of the biggest games of the 2024 season when they travel to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs. It’s a game that the Volunteers enter with questions about the status of their starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
After getting knocked out of the Mississippi State game with what turned out to be a concussion, it’s been unclear if he’d be able to play against Georgia. Now, while speaking to media members during the SEC teleconference, head coach Josh Heupel shared an injury update on his young signal caller in practice this week.
“Nico has been good here in the early part of the week,” Josh Heupel said. “And at this point in the week I’ll refer everybody to the availability report that comes out later tonight. Everybody can wait with anticipation for that.”
