Nikhai Hill-Green down to four schools, sets commitment date
Nikhai Hill-Green has scheduled a commitment date.
The former Michigan and Charlotte transfer was a team captain for the 49ers this past season, earning third-team All-AAC honors en route the tallying 73 tackles. After not playing for the Wolverines in 2022 because of injuries that kept him sidelined all season, 2023 gave Hill-Green a fresh start.
He told On3 on Wednesday morning he’s narrowed his list of options down to four schools. Arkansas, Colorado, Louisville and Mizzou are all in the mix. Hill-Green plans to announce his commitment on Sunday.
The 6-foot-2, 232-pound grad transfer visited Arkansas last week before spending the weekend in Boulder with the Colorado coaching staff. He also took a visit this week to Texas A&M. The Aggies also picked up a commitment this week from Pitt linebacker Solomon DeShields, who had 58 tackles and eight tackles for loss in 2023.
Hill-Green previously On3 he can envision himself playing with the Buffs and for Deion Sanders.
“The culture, how important it is for everyone there to be the best team possible,” he told On3. “The opportunity to come in and be a starter with everything I bring. The NFL experience that defensive coordinator Rob Livingston brought in along with the Prime Effect of having the NFL resources available.”

The Wolverines pushed for the linebacker to be at last Saturday’s spring game, however, Hill-Green spent it at Colorado — a clear sign of where the Buffs sit in his recruitment. Louisville has been targeting the linebacker position in the portal and is expected to host Hill-Green this weekend. The Cardinals are also bringing in Texas State linebacker Dan Foster Jr.
During his three seasons at Michigan, Nikhai Hill-Green was a key piece of the defense when he wasn’t sidelined due to injuries. The former four-star prospect played in all 14 games and made six starts in the 2021 season, helping Michigan reach the College Football Playoff. He posted 50 tackles and two tackles for loss.
