No. 1 2023 athlete Sonny Styles narrows list to 5 schools
Sonny Styles, the No.3 player in the On3 Top 100 2023 rankings, is down to five schools: Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Florida. The 6-foot-4, 215 prospect out of Pickerington (Ohio) Pickerington Central, who brings plenty of versatility to a defense, narrowed his list to five schools out of his 23 offers.
Clemson: Culture and comparison to Isaiah Simmons
“Clemson is an absolutely amazing place and has an amazing culture,” Styles said. “What they did with Isaiah Simmons was amazing, and I could see myself doing some of the same things.”
Notre Dame: Opportunity to play with brother
“Notre Dame itself is an amazing place alone,” Styles said. “Then having the opportunity to do great things with my brother at the next level, only Notre Dame can offer that.”
Ohio State: Brotherhood in his home-state
Styles adds that staying in his home state is enticing.
“I think I’ve obviously felt the brotherhood at Ohio State,” Styles said. “It would be amazing to stay home and do some great things.”

Ole Miss: The “new age” of Rebels’ football
“I think Coach (Lane) Kiffin is going to do amazing things with the program. I love Coach (Devin) Bush and Coach Buck,” Styles said. “They both have plenty of years in the NFL, and the position that they want me to play they do a great job with. I think the development would be amazing. It also presents a unique opportunity to be a part of the new age of Ole Miss football.”
Florida: A place to create his own legacy
“Florida is an amazing place and playing some very high level competition in the SEC stands out to me,” Styles said. “Then having the opportunity to just live in Florida and start my own legacy.”
