No. 1 interior lineman Lamar Brown names top 4 schools

Erwinville (La.) University Lab four-star lineman Lamar Brown locked in his only four scheduled official visits last month to LSU, Texas A&M, Florida State and Miami.
“It is really those four schools,” Brown told On3’s Chad Simmons at the time. “It really came down to me deciding to play defensive line in college. A lot of schools wanted to play offensive line, but those four schools were the ones recruiting me the hardest as a defensive lineman.”
A few weeks later, he made it official on Thursday with On3’s Hayes Fawcett that those are his final four schools, whom he’ll decide between this summer.
The Hurricanes (May 30) will get the first crack at him before he makes stop at FSU (June 6), Texas A&M (June 13) and eventually LSU (June 20).
Brown has yet to visit either of the two Florida schools, but has connections to Florida State’s staff through new assistants Gus Malzahn and Herb Hand.
“I haven’t visited either school, but I visited UCF twice, so I have a great relationship with coach (Gus) Malzahn and coach (Herb) Hand,” Brown told Simmons. “I loved it at UCF, so I want to see what Florida State is like. They are great coaches that I have great relationships with.”
Everyone is chasing the Tigers right now
Heading into the spring, both the ‘Canes and Seminoles have some work to do.
“LSU is a little above A&M at No. 1. Florida State and Miami are tied after those two at the top,” he said.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Brown has a lot of love for the home-state school, and he has built a strong relationship with multiple members of the coaching staff. With him primarily focusing on playing defense at the next level though, LSU’s replacement for defensive line coach Bo Davis could have a major impact one way or the other.
Texas A&M is set to host him later this month, and they’ll be looking to capitalize on the change in Baton Rouge.
“I talk to them almost every day,” Brown told Simmons of the Aggies’ staff. “I talked to Coach Tony (Jerod-Eddie) yesterday and I talked to Coach (Mike) Elko today. Those two and Coach (Sean) Spencer are great guys. I love those guys. … They are great people, great coaches, I trust them and I love what they do. Coach Spence has a great resume, A&M has produced defensive linemen and it is a great place.”
Brown ranks as the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2026 class and No. 1 recruit in Louisiana, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
