Needham (Mass.) Prolific Prep small forward AJ Dybantsa has announced that he is reclassifying from the 2026 cycle to 2025.

Dybantsa was the consensus No. 1 overall player in the 2026 cycle and already holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Michigan and Texas. He now becomes the No. 1 player in the 2025 cycle.

“My first time watching AJ Dybantsa while still in middle school, his feel for scoring was the first takeaway. Nothing is flashy with him, but everything is within a comfortable rhythm. His form, his release and his pace are all repeatable,” wrote On3’s Jamie Shaw.

“Dybantsa played 19 minutes per game on this summer’s USA Basketball U16 team. The 6-foot-8 wing averaged 13.7 points on 61.7% shooting from the field. The dynamic of this team was fast, so a lot of his points came in transition and with finishes at the rim. However, he was able to show an ability to create in the half-court, especially in the mid-range.”

Dybantsa has an On3 NIL Valuation of $234K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Scouting Summary

“AJ Dybantsa is a lengthy and wiry 6-foot-7, maybe 6-foot-8 wing. He has a slippery and smooth handle in the open floor that allows him to attack the basket downhill. He is a bouncy athlete at the rim, finishing high above in transition. Dybantsa has a smooth jump shot and can create his own shots off the bounce. He has the length and upside to be very good when he is locked in on the defensive end. With a 2007 birthday, he has the foundation of all the tools; it will simply be about continuing to get stronger and developing the vast skill base.”
